Job title: Competition Secretary

THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY FILLED

Accountable to: Club Committee & Head Coach
Additional requirements: DBS Check through TMBSC.
Skills required: Administration, computing, organisation and  communication. Friendly and approachable
Time commitment: Variable but a minimum of 3 hours per week +  attendance at meetings and galas.

Main Duties:

  1. Compilation, management and distribution of the Club’s Competition Calendar in conjunction with the Head Coach.
  2. Arranging and managing all internal galas including events, license, pool booking, communication with swimmers, officials and helpers, computer entries.
  3. Arranging and managing the Clubs Annual Spring Meet including date, events, license, pool booking, advertising, communication with attending clubs and swimmers, computer entries, officials and helpers, food and refreshments.
  4. Liaising with the Club Treasurer regarding pool booking and payment for home galas.
  5. Arranging and managing all external galas on the Club’s Competition Calendar including notifying swimmers of the events, process for entry and fees payment.
  6. Liaising with the Club Treasurer with regard to the collection of gala entry fees and payment of fees for external galas.
  7. Liaising with the Head Coach and Club Treasurer regarding the booking and payment of transport for external gala’s.
  8. Updating on an annual basis the Club’s Swimming Records Sheet on the club website and noticeboard.
  9. Liaising with the Committee regarding organised galas.
  10. Liaising with the Membership Secretary to ensure all officials and helpers have Swim England Membership, relevant qualifications and DBS Certificates.
  11. Ensuring that the Club achieves and maintains the standards required for Swim Mark accreditation.
  12. Ensuring that all data kept on swimmers/members, helpers, coaches and lifeguards of the club follows the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
  13. Following and promoting the Club’s Codes of Conduct.
  14. Following and promoting the SE Safeguarding Policy and Code of Ethics.
  15. Following and promoting the SE Photo Policy.
  16. Attending a minimum of 50% of Committee meetings per year.
  17. Attending at least one Personal Development Review every year with either the Club Chairman or Secretary

Club Office

Our Club Office at Sale Leisure Centre is open on Sundays between 3.45-5.45pm for enquiries and to purchase swim hats and second hand items.
