Our Mini Championships, once again, delivered an unforgettable evening. Since its introduction in 2019, the event has created a fantastic legacy for our club - providing an important first step for many swimmers in their competitive journeys.
Our Mini Met members approached each race with confidence, bringing all the valuable technical and tactical skills developed in training, to their events.
Special Mentions: One of the standout moments of the evening came courtesy of Samuel B, who broke a long standing club record in the 50m Backstroke. The previous benchmark, held by current Club Captain and National Medalist, Elliott Hughes (2019).
Top Performer (Male) Luca H was the most successful athlete on the evening. Bagging 3 gold medals in the 50 FC, 50 BR and 100 IM. Luca has been consistent with training and has shown he is a strong allrounder. It's encouraging to see Luca achieving large personal best times, it will be exciting to see his next steps in his competitive journey.
Top Performer (Female) Anna W shone as one of the true standouts of the evening. Despite being one of the youngest competitors in her age bracket, Anna showed remarkable confidence - racing in the first heat of the evening and achieving a huge personal best. Anna's fearless approach showcased her growing competitive spirit in the swimming pool.
Team Effort
While the swimmers were the stars of the show, the event's smooth delivery was made possible by the exceptional Trafford Metro community. Our team on poolside ensured that the meet ran efficiently from start to finish.
With the momentum from this event carrying us forward, the coaching team are now preparing to deliver the next training and competition cycle. Our focus during December's training will be to inspire the children to reflect on their performances and set new goals.
