Since our founding in 1913, Trafford Metro has evolved into one of the leading age-group swimming clubs in the North West and one of the largest and most successful Masters Clubs in the world!
 

We are a competitive swimming club for swimmers aged 8 years and above.

Our Mini Mets academy includes a variety of squads and aims to prepare young swimmers to enter our Junior Squads through building a solid skills foundation.

Our long-term athlete development programme takes swimmers through the club structure up to the age of 18, taking our athletes from relative novice to competitive levels. Our swimmers have had great success competing at local, county, regional, national and international levels.

After the age of 18, swimmers are eligible to join one of our Masters squads (Masters or Masters Fitness). Our Masters team has won Top Club at both Swim England Nationals and British Championships every year since 2022. The squads are home to a large number of National, British, European and World Championship medalists as well as several British, European and World Record holders.

All of our coaching team are Swim England qualified and bring a wealth of experience working with athletes of a wide range of ages, from 8 to 85 (and counting!).

We mainly train at Sale Leisure Centre (supported by Trafford Leisure) in both the Main and Club pools. Our Mini Mets Academy and National Squads also train at St Ambrose Pool in Hale.
