After a 15 year stint as Chair of Trafford Metro, Bob Bolton has today formally stepped down from the position.

Bob leaves behind a wonderful legacy that has helped shape Trafford Metro into the club it is today. His work and dedication have contributed to some of Trafford’s most successful seasons, including record membership numbers, our highest-ever Arena League finishes, and the highest number of Regional, National and British Championship attendees from our age-group programme. He has also helped to firmly establish our Masters squads amongst the very best in the UK, Europe and globally, with a haul of silverware and an long list of record-breaking swims.

It would be impossible to briefly summarise the role Bob has played in the long list of the club’s achievements. Being Chair of any organisation can often prove to be a thankless task, but today, the incoming Club Committee would like to pay a huge tribute to the effort, care, love and dedication Bob has shown, not only to Trafford Metro but to the wider swimming community.

It will be remembered.

This is not a farewell. Bob will continue in his role as one of our Masters coaches and, no doubt, our athletes of all levels will see him donning the referee whites at various meets to come.

Thank you, Bob!
