Blackpool Lights!

Over 30 Trafford Masters swimmers competed at the North West Masters Championships at Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool.

This is one of our targeted meets and is a useful precursor to the Masters Nationals at the end of October.

Trafford brought home 44 Golds, 22 Silvers and 12 Bronze medals. There were also 47 1-year PBs recorded. The meet begins with the 800 Freestyle. Danny M clocked 8:26.61 to win overall by half a minute and breaking the British record in the process. Kate W, Hannah A and Jen M also picked up models in this event in their respective age groups.

Other outstanding performances included Arran F posting a 1:52.55 in the 200 Freestyle, knocking over a second off his PB, and Molly J swimming 2:24.80 to mark another massive PB in her specialist event, the 200 Butterfly.

There were lots of impressive times, made more so as people are in full training and not rested or tapered for this event, which bodes well for Nationals in one month's time.
