Success for TMBSC Swimmers at the Nationals

Holly Rowlinson, Olivia Dykes and Jack O’brien went to Sheffield to compete in their individual events against the rest of the UK. Holly Rowlinson showed which colour was her favourite by the end of the meet competing in her favoured event of the 100 Bs where she came 1st with the important Gold to be worn round her neck, Holly also came 13th in the 200IM (2.31.36), 7th in the 400IM (5:14.84), and 11th in the 200 BS (2:49.07). Jack O’Brien also did very well with making 2 finals in the 14 years age group of the 200 Bs  where he came 9th in 2.31.76 and 10th in a time of 1.10.74 in the 100 BS, Jack also took part in the 400 IM where he came 18th in 4:59.56.

In the 12 years age group Olivia Dykes also took to the stage by coming 28th in the uk on the 100 Bk in a time of 1.12.18.

Relays were also done by 2 members of Trafford Metro who were part of the Swim Trafford team where Solomon Mhar and Jack O’brien were in the 4x200 Fc relay where they came 19th in the UK with each going 2.05.77 and 2.08.54 respectably, the boys also took part in the 4x100 IM relay but were disqualified.

In the following week the youth swimmers took part where Craig McNeil and Heather Lawson took on the best in the UK.  Craig McNeil was taking part in the open Multi disability events and managed to get in 3 finals with his best result coming in the 400m Fc where he came 6th 4:44.91 MD. Craig also had events in nearly every day of the weeks competition where he came 11th in the 50 FC (29.57), 18th in the 200 IM (2:44.01), 8th in the 100m BK (1.13.10) and 10th 100 FC (1:02.83). Heather Lawson was in the 400 IM where she came 20th in the open age group with a time of 5:15.61.

All the swimmers who took part the Nationals have achieved a very high level in swimming and all deserve a great well done for all their hard work over the last year and before that as to reach nationals is not an easy feat so a great Job to all who took part.
