More success at the Cheshire Championships for Trafford Metro

Trafford counted!

And another weekend of Cheshire’s has passed and swimmers again from Trafford Performed to the best of their abilities with 81% of personal bests. Swimmers again were ranking in the top 8 of the county for their respected age groups, swimmers included Andrew Bolton, Sam Bolton, Tiago Lawrie, Nisarg Dharashivkar, Daniel New, and Lauren Banner.

Although no 1^st places were given Trafford Metro’s Andrew Bolton came close on 3 occasions taking 3 silvers in the 1500m FC, 200m FC and the 200m IM, with Andrews best performance coming in the 200m FC the elusive 2minute mark is still to be broken but this was another great performance achieving a time of 2:01.84 in the Macclesfield pool. Again we had seen more Trafford Metro swimmers qualifying for the Counties included 2 of our up and coming swimmers Beth Hyland (9) and Ella Parker(10). Swimmers who also performed well were: Eve Salsbury, Rachael Smith, Matt Johnston, Eleanor Twite, Keaton Partington, George Woodford, Joe Hammond, Freddie Gent, Hannah Head, and Emily Conway.

12 & Under Challenge for Honors

Going into the final session it was RELAY time for all age groups all the swimmers were raring to go for this event as they performing in 2 relays, one was the 4x50m F/c and the other 4x50m IM, all relay teams were well prepared and itching to try out their new relay take overs with their team mates. This was going to be a tough night with the best of Cheshire being there but the 12&under girls were firing on all cylinders as they secured the Bronze medal in the 4x50m FC Relay in a time of 2:08.49 and this was followed up in their next relay of the 4x50m IM the girls of Rachel Edmonson, Lauren Banner, Emily Conway and Abigail Cheetham destroyed the field from the start and hung on for a well-deserved Silver Medal. There were 5 other relay times also competing for honors on the night but they just missed out on securing the medals with 4^th place hitting some of the relay teams, but all relays performed to high standard and all swimmers managed to achive their best times, so a big congratulations to all who took part.
