Emma Ross was our one competitior at the 2011 European Masters Event held at Yalta in the Ukraine. The open air pool, normally filled with salt water straight out of the Black Sea had been specially drained for the event and refilled with fresh water.
Emma won silver open water 3K in the Black Sea in a time of 46:17.07. She added bronze medals in 3 further events - 200m freestyle in 2:20.13 , 400 freestyle in 4:58.51 and 800m freestyle in 10:19.36.
Emma said the swimming was fantastic but the 18 hour train journey wasn't the best preparation for such an important event.
