TMBSC Swimmers compete at Nationals

A number of TMBSC Swimmers competed for Swim Trafford at the recent National Age Group Championships.

Coaching Update – August 2008 

More great news for Trafford Metro swimmers as coach Tracie Gorst has been confirmed as one of the first dozen coaches in the country to gain a UKCC level 3 Senior Coach qualification. Tracie has been working towards this over the past 12 months with funding support from Greater Sport. She was required to complete 10 practical units and assessment papers along with a final unit 11 formal assessment. The course involves 2 levels – one for the development of teaching and skills, the other for competition development and performance, both of which are to swim 21 level. All Tracie’s hard work throughout the course has really paid off as she has just received confirmation from the ASA that she has been awarded the higher grade Level 3 pass performance.

In addition Dave Neild and Gordon Mills have achieved success in gaining their UKCC level 2 qualifications for swimming teaching. Their course involved 5 units and 1 practical assessment and both have worked really hard over the past 6 months to get to this level.

Jakob and Aneta our red and blue group coaches have received conformation from the ASA that their swimming qualifications gained in Poland are the equivalent to the UK Level 2 coaching qualification so good news for them also.

With all this coaching capability on hand at Trafford Metro along with our new head coach Kim Swanwick our swimmers are really well placed to develop and achieve to the very best of their abilities.
