POINTSCORE  -  MEET COMPETITION RULES
                 
OBJECT                
                 
Opportunity for swimmers to compete against their own times on a regular basis, under competition conditions.
Points are gained for improvement which count towards meet awards and annual trophies.    
The competition is open to all full Squad training members of the club.      
Training fees include entry into the Pointscore Competition, except Masters who must pay £1.00 per Meet.
                 
CONDITIONS                
                   
1. The competition will be run on a graded swim basis and all swimmers will score points in              
    accordance with their own grade. By achieving Grade times in a minimum of 3 events             
    on 2 different strokes, and 1 event must be of 100m or greater (see Grading Tables)  
                 
2. A swimmer may compete in a maximum of three events at any one Pointscore meet.    
                 
3. Swimmers compete against their Personal Best time as at 1st January each year    
   (known as the standard time) and points will be awarded for all swimmers      
   who better  their standard time on the following basis.

4    Any improvement less than the above but greater than 0.09

N.B. The above times are per 50 swim, i.e a `B` grade swimmer must better his\her 200m time by at least
        3.2 sec in order to gain 10 points.            
                 
4. Entry into the competition will be based on the officially recorded personal best time (PB) which                
    becomes the swimmers pointscore standard time.  .        
    Every Jan 1st only, swimmers PBs will become their new Pointscore PB    
                 
5. Where a swimmer is entering Pointscore or an event in Pointscore for the first time and does not have the 
    relevant PB recorded, then he/she may only do so on the recommendation of his/her Coach  
                 
6. For entry eligibility, Squad and minimum distance requirements, please see individual entry forms.  
                 
7. Awards will be presented to the top boy and girl in each grade who has gained the most points in    
    the previous Meet. In order to be eligible for these awards a swimmer must have gained a minimum                
    of 10 points and have competed in the 3 prior consecutive Pointscore Meets, unless competing for TMBSC     
    In the event of a tie the award will be decided on countback of previous Meet points.    
                 
8. Awards will be made annually to the top 6 boys and 6 girls gaining the most points over the Pointscore      
    year with the main Pointscore trophies (to be held for one year) going to the top boy and girl. In order to    
    be eligible for these annual awards, swimmers must have competed in a minimum of 4 meets.  
                 
9. All events will be swum under FINA law and all heats will be seeded fastest to slowest.    
                 
10. Swimmers are encouraged to enter for all Meets at the beginning of each year.     
     Entries must be posted at the Club Desk not later than 7.30pm on the Sunday before Pointscore.  
                 
11.Swimmers are expected to swim all events entered. Should he/she be unable to swim any event    
     they must report this to the stewards. Swimmers who fail to report without a justifiable reason will have all
     points deducted from their score that Meet.          
                 
12. NO LATE ENTRIES OR TIME ONLY SWIMS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
